Description

Txakoli is the iconic white wine of the Basque Country — light, crisp and naturally sparkling, with a refreshing acidity that makes it one of the most food-friendly wines in Spain. Ameztoi’s Txakoli is produced exclusively from the indigenous Hondarrabi Zuri grape, grown in the Getariako Txakolina Denomination of Origin on the rugged Atlantic coast of the Basque Country.

The wine develops its characteristic light sparkle through natural fermentation — no intervention, no additions. The result is a pale, elegant wine with a fine and lively bubble, a fresh fragrance of green apples and grapes with a subtle minty note, and a dry, harmonious palate with a long, aromatic finish.

With just 11% alcohol, it is delicate yet characterful — a true expression of the Basque coast and the Ameztoi family’s two centuries of winemaking tradition.

About producer

Ameztoi has been producing Txakoli in the Basque Country since 1820 — five generations of one family, dedicated to a single wine and a single place. Known locally by the nickname "Criquet" — a symbol of joy and pride — the Ameztoi family has always worked exclusively with the indigenous Basque varieties Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza, preserving the authentic character of Getariako Txakolina across two centuries of tradition.

Over the generations, the winery has grown and refined its craft while staying true to its roots — producing a Txakoli that satisfies the most demanding palates without ever losing its honest, joyful spirit.
